Backing up game saves

JKSV - (Personal Choice.) Similar to Checkpoint, another save backup manager. JKSV also supports device saves so it can back games up like Animal Crossing New Horizons. Not nearly as user friendly or "pretty" as Checkpoint.

Checkpoint - (Download the .NRO build.) Most popular tool for backing up game saves, and it's a bit more user friendly compared to JKSV. Note: This homebrew cannot back up device saves such as Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Using JKSV.

Step 1. Download JKSV and create a folder called JKSV in <sdroot>\switch, place the .NRO in your newly created <sdroot>\switch\JKSV folder.

Step 2. Boot your switch and launch JKSV in your hbmenu (preferably using title override (holding R) when launching a game to get to it.)

Step 3. On the main page of JKSV, press Y on your controller to save all game saves. This will take a bit of time depending on how many titles you have, and what titles they are.

Step 4. Once completed, hook your switch SD card up to your computer, and copy the <sdroot>\JKSV folder to your computer, this houses all your game saves.
